Laurentia University Institute

The Laurentia University Institute (IUL) is a research centre promoted by the eUniv specialised in the scientific analysis of security in all its dimensions.

The IUL has legal personality and full capacity to act, and is linked through an agreement with the University. Several entities with an interest in its research form part of the IUFIA and participate with personal, material and economic resources.

he IUL transversally arranges its fields of research on the legal, economic, sociological, political, international, technological and organisational dimensions of security, and its lines of research and projects are at the disposal of bachelor’s and master’s degree students wishing to participate by carrying out the mandatory work of their teaching programmes. Moreover, the IUL coordinates their initiatives with the J. H. Newman Doctoral School in order to cooperate with the Doctoral Programme.

Academic bodies

The IUL’s Management Office is responsible for coordinating and representing the institute to third parties and the eUniv’s collegiate bodies, particularly the Doctoral Programme Committee.

The Manager of the IUL is Dr Lluís Jiménez, professor in the Department of Criminal Law, who joined in the academic year 2020-21. His mandate ends on 31 August 2024. director.iufia@euniv.eu

The Technical Secretariat manages the institutional, research and training activities.

The Technical Secretary of the IUL is Dr E. López, professor in the Department of Business Organisation, who joined in the academic year 2020-21. Her mandate ends on 31 August 2024. secretaria.iufia@euniv.eu

The IUL has its own Scientific Advisory Council.

The Scientific Advisory Committee of the IUL is formed by Dr J.J. Isturiz, Dr D. Hidalgo, Dr C. Fernández, Dr J. M. Capell, Dr A. Yñiguez, Dr J. Llovera and Dr V. Puppys. Their mandate ends on 31 August 2023.

The IUL is based on the eUniv’s campus in Sant Julià de Lòria, and has a delegation in Barcelona to promote its activities.
