Andorra la Vella, 12 July 2025<\/strong> \u2013 The European University of the Principality of Andorra (eUniv) celebrated this Saturday its first official academic graduation ceremony<\/strong>, a historic milestone that marks a turning point in the institution’s journey. The event took place at the Congress Centre of Andorra la Vella<\/strong> at 6:30 p.m. and welcomed over 300 attendees<\/strong>, including graduates, family members, faculty and authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was presided over by Dr. Antoni Noguero<\/strong>, Rector of the university, and Dr. Jes\u00fas M. Pruj\u00e0<\/strong>, Chancellor of eUniv. It also featured speeches by the patron of the class<\/strong>, Mr. Ramon Camp<\/strong>, Secretary of the High Council of Justice of Andorra, and the representative of the graduating class<\/strong>, Ms. Francisca V. Hern\u00e1ndez<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his opening remarks, Dr. Jes\u00fas M. Pruj\u00e0 reflected on the historical origins of the university and the significance of graduation as a foundational rite:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEight centuries later, we remain faithful to a tradition that has been adopted across the world. That is why, in events like today’s, it is important to offer some reflection and recall that academic recognition must also be accompanied by the professional rights it entails,\u201d the Chancellor stated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Ramon Camp emphasized the symbolic and collective value of the ceremony:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUniversities want graduations to be known and recognized. They want their graduates to experience a moment of solemnity, through a centuries-old rite that makes them aware of the step they are taking\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n


\u201cThe true counterpart of the degree earned is the social responsibility that you take on from today.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Ms. Francisca V. Hern\u00e1ndez, Humanities graduate, spoke on behalf of the first graduating class of eUniv<\/strong>, a remarkable milestone for the institution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere is something that will forever unite today\u2019s graduates: we are the first graduating class in the history of the European University of the Principality of Andorra.\u201d

\u201cAn institution with a novel educational model, designed for people who wished to pursue higher education while balancing family, work, and social responsibilities.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The closing speech was delivered by Rector Dr. Antoni Noguero<\/strong>, who highlighted hope<\/strong> as a driver of academic success:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

\u201cHope is the source of motivation. It is the cement with which we build our life\u2019s foundation.\u201d

\u201cAlways keep in mind that university graduation, from its origins, implies a special and unavoidable social responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The event, marked by solemnity and emotion<\/strong>, included the conferral of stoles and medals<\/strong> to graduates and doctoral students, along with performances of the traditional academic hymns \u201cNon nobis, Domine\u201d<\/strong> and \u201cGaudeamus igitur\u201d<\/strong>. The ceremony concluded with an institutional reception<\/strong>, where attendees enjoyed a dinner and exchanged experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this celebration, eUniv reaffirms its commitment to quality, academic tradition, and educational innovation<\/strong>, offering a higher education model that responds to the realities of the 21st century.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
