Sans i Trav\u00e9 passed away. He had been a member of eUniv\u2019s Academic Senate since its creation. With his passing, the University loses one of the people who believed most deeply in the project and who most actively supported it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Catalan culture has lost a rigorous and tireless historian, an archivist with a strong institutional vision, and an exceptional steward of cultural heritage. Dr Sans was a true <em>homenot<\/em>\u2014a man of remarkable stature\u2014with a gift for turning both his own initiatives and those of others into reality, and for doing so with almost proverbial effectiveness. From the National Archive of Catalonia to the regional network of historical archives; from the most far-reaching legislation to the most specific resolution; from the most important congress to the most specialised seminar; from the most significant doctoral thesis to the most locally focused historical monograph: across all these spheres, the hand of Dr Sans i Trav\u00e9 was clearly and visibly present for decades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His legacy is as immense as it is admirable. Future generations will surely come to regard him as the embodiment of that Catalan <em>seny ordenador<\/em>\u2014the discerning and organising spirit who guided the endeavour to safeguard our collective documentary memory, from the restoration of Catalan self-government until well into the 21st century. For its part, Universidad Europea IMF will always remember him as one of its most distinguished senators, unfailingly enthusiastic and positive, who has left us far too soon.
