Vice-President’s Office Services: Specific and fundamental

The eUniv President’s Office, in keeping with the University’s Standing Rules, can appoint from members of the Academic Board two Vice-President’s Offices, which, along with the ordinary functions of substituting the holder of the President’s Office in the cases statutorily provided for, can be delegated specific functions concerning a given academic field of university management.

The first Vice-President’s Office is responsible for University research policy and, as well as chairing the Research Committee and managing the eUniv Research Master Plan, provides the following university service:

  1. Research Management and Learning Resources Centre Service (CRA)

The Second Vice-President’s Office is responsible for the University Internal Quality Assurance System and, in addition to chairing the Quality Commission, provides the following university services:

  1. Quality Assurance Service
  2. Language Service

The Language Service is the body responsible for organising the range of linguistic training aimed at achieving the ability level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), recommended in each of the languages used in the courses: Catalan, Spanish and English.

In addition to training, the Language Service organises the assessment processes to achieve the certification of the level recommended, in accordance with the CEFR model. Training can be followed online through the Self-learning Classroom and, at some levels, onsite sessions are provided on the Sant Julià de Lòria and Barcelona campuses.

The Service’s Chiefdom, appointed by the Second Secretary General’s Office from the members of its personnel with specialised training, is the body responsible for the running and quality of the service.

The functions of the Chiefdom of the eUniv Language Service are carried out by Mrs Clara O. Serés, by express delegation of the second Vice-President of 25 April 2019. Her mandate ends on 31 August 2027. lingua@euniv.eu

The Quality Assurance Service is the body responsible for managing the procedures of the eUniv Quality Assurance (QA) System.

La Prefectura del Servei, nomenada pel Vicerectorat segon entre els membres del seu personal amb formació superior especialitzada, és l’òrgan responsable del funcionament i la qualitat del servei.

This body performs the functions of the Secretary’s Office of the University’s Quality Commission, and the course centre and monitoring boards. Its responsibilities include producing technical quality reports as well as informing and advising all academic boards on understanding and applying the QA System.

The functions of the Chiefdom of the eUniv Quality Assurance Service are carried out by Mr. Aleu Miret, by express delegation of the first Vice-President of 25 April 2019. Her mandate ends on 31 August 2027. qualitas@euniv.eu

The Research Management and Learning Resources Centre Service is the body responsible for managing both the research programme and the Research Laboratory and the Learning and Research Resources Centre.

The Service’s Chiefdom, appointed by the First Secretary General’s Office from the members of its personnel with specialised training, is the body responsible for the running and quality of the service.

This body performs the functions of secretary’s office of the University Research Committee, and forms part of the committees of the University’s research institutes. Its responsibilities include providing information and advice to all academic bodies on scientific research calls and how to apply.

The functions of the Chiefdom of the eUniv Research Management and Learning Resources Centre Service are carried out by Mr. Xavier Isern, by express delegation of the first Vice-President of 25 April 2019. His mandate ends on 31 August 2027. recerca@euniv.eu
