On 8 May 2026, Joaquim Vallès, Director of eUniv’s University Institute of Applied Technology (IUTA), signed a framework cooperation agreement between his institute and the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Deusto.
Josep Maria Sans i Travé: In memoriam
In the early hours of Sunday, 14 June 2026, Dr Josep M. Sans i Travé passed away. He had been a member of eUniv’s Academic Senate since its creation. With his passing, the University loses one of the people who believed most deeply in the project and who most actively supported it.
Universitat Europea present at the 39th Andorran Conference of the Universitat Catalana d’Estiu
La Societat Andorrana de Ciències va realitzar el 22 d’agost la tradicional jornada especialitzada andorrana que té lloc des del 1988. Així, en el marc de la Universitat Catalana d’Estiu es va realitzar la 39a edició de la Jornada Andorrana per debatre sobre La neutralitat andorrana, amb un total de vint-i-una ponències presencials i vuit no presencials.
75th Anniversary of the Institute of North American Studies
The Rector of eUniv, Dr Antoni Noguero, a member of the IEN Board of Trustees, took part in the anniversary celebration, during which Dr Joan Massagué, the renowned Catalan oncologist and biochemist who currently heads the Sloan Kettering Institute in New York, was presented with the J. F. Kennedy Award granted by the IEN.
New Publication and Award for an eUniv Visiting Researcher
Dr Antonio Serrano, Professor of Commercial Law at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, has published a second study produced during his time as a visiting researcher at eUniv. Entitled Del leviatán al algoritmo: Inteligencia artificial y la reescritura del contrato social, the study appears in issue no. 32 of the Revista de Fiscalidad Internacional y Negocios Transnacionales, published by Editorial Aranzadi.
New Appointment of eUniv’s Vice-Chancellor
On 28 May 2026, the Bishop of Urgell and Co-Prince of Andorra, Msgr Josep-Lluís Serrano, signed the new ecclesiastical appointments for the diocese. Among them is the appointment of Msgr Josep Chisvert, Vice-Chancellor of eUniv, as Rector of the Cathedral of Urgell. Msgr Chisvert has served as Rector of the Andorran parish of Sant Julià de Lòria since 2010.
New Research Publication from the Doctoral School
Dr Antonio Serrano, Professor of Commercial Law at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid, has published the research conducted during his stay as a visiting researcher at eUniv’s J. H. Newman Doctoral School.
Public Display of Doctoral Thesis
The eUniv Doctoral Committee, at its meeting held on 8 May 2026, received the three external reports issued on the doctoral thesis entitled University Higher Education in Nursing in the Principalities of Andorra and Catalonia in the 21st Century, submitted by doctoral candidate Maria A. Corredor under the supervision of Dr Jesús M. Prujà.
