NextG University Institute

The NextG University Institute (IUNextG) is a Think Tank or Laboratory of ideas promoted by the eUniv to develop and organize applied research, debate and dissemination activities in the field of science and technology.

The IUNextG has legal personality and full capacity to act, and is linked through an agreement with the University. Several entities with an interest in its research form part of the IUNextG and participate with personal, material and economic resources.

The IUNextG’s main fields of applied research aare the potentially negative consequences that research in fields such as biomedicine, Artificial Intelligence, genetic manipulation, the Internet of Things (IOT) could have, both on people and on free and democratic societies, as well as, the protection of personal data, cybersecurity, robotics, Blockchain and cryptocurrencies, etc.

All the IUNextG’s lines of research and projects are at the disposal of bachelor’s and master’s degree students wishing to participate by carrying out the mandatory work in their teaching programmes. Moreover, the IUNextG coordinates its initiatives with the J. H. Newman Doctoral School in order to cooperate with the Doctoral Programme.

Academic bodies

The IUNextG’s Management Office is responsible for coordinating and representing the institute to third parties and the eUniv’s collegiate bodies, particularly the Doctoral Programme Committee.

The Manager of the IUNextG is Dr., professor in the Department of Economic and Social Sciences, who joined in the academic year 2020-21. His mandate ends on 31 August 2024. director.iunextg@euniv.eu

The Technical Secretariat manages the institutional, research and training activities.

The Technical Secretary of the IUNEXTG is Dra. Marta Mitjans, professor in the Department of Technological Sciences, who joined in the academic year 2020-21. Her mandate ends on 31 August 2024. secretaria.iunextg@euniv.eu

The IUNextG has its own Scientific Advisory Council.

The Scientific Advisory Committee of the IUNextG is formed by Dr. F. J. Guillén, Mr. J. Puigvert, Mr. R. Ollé, Dr. J. Ojeda and Dr. T. Gil. Their mandate ends on 31 August 2023.

The IUNextG is based on the eUniv’s campus in Sant Julià de Lòria, and has a delegation in Barcelona to promote its activities.
