Copa Colegial Andorra kicks off with the support of the European University

The opening event was held at the European University (eUniv) headquarters and was attended by the Andorran schools taking part in the school tournament

The second edition of Copa Colegial Andorra officially got underway this Wednesday the 17th with the presentation of the teams from Andorran schools and the draw for the matchups that will determine the fixtures. The event was held at the headquarters of the European University (eUniv), this year’s main sponsor, in Sant Julià de Lòria. The event started promptly at 5:00 p.m. and ended at 6:45 p.m.

The opening ceremony was attended by the team captains and one coordinator from each school. In total, around forty students gathered to take part in the draw and begin preparing for the first matchdays, which will take place in early January. In this second edition, the schools participating in Andorra’s largest school tournament are: Lycée Comte de Foix, Col·legi Sant Ermengol, Agora International School Andorra, Col·legi Mare Janer, Escola Andorrana de Segona Ensenyança de Santa Coloma, Escola Andorrana de Batxillerat, Col·legi Espanyol María Moliner, and Centre de Formació Professional Sant Julià.

“We’re very happy to be able to play the tournament again and we can’t wait for it to start,” said some of the young people who attended the presentation. “This second edition will feature more teams and shows the country’s commitment to sporting activities that build community and a sense of belonging,” Copa Colegial representatives stated. For their part, the European University explained that “we’re very pleased to support projects like Copa Colegial, which promote education and sport among Andorran youth; hosting the presentation at our headquarters is a source of pride.”

With this second edition now underway, Copa Colegial Andorra builds on the success of its first edition and aims to consolidate and expand a successful project that helps raise the country’s profile.
