eUniv researcher Ismael Babeli successfully defends his doctoral thesis on ceramic 3D printing technology for solid oxide cells

Sant Julià de Lòria, October 29, 2026 — Ismael Babeli, visiting researcher at the eUniv’s Institut Universitari de Tecnologia Aplicada (IUTA), successfully defended his doctoral thesis entitled Advanced Ceramic 3D Printing for Electrolyte-Supported Solid Oxide Cell technologies on Thursday, October 22.

The research work was co-directed by Dr. Albert Tarancón and Dr. Marc Torrell, ICREA professors at the Catalonia Institute for Energy Research (IREC), and was developed within the PhD Program in Materials Science at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

The new PhD graduate is the son of Joan Babeli, a member of the eUniv Academic Senate, who was accompanied during the thesis defense by several representatives of the Senate and the institution’s university community, thereby demonstrating institutional support for the high-level research promoted by the university.
