Conference by Dr Josep Serrano at Miguel Hernández University

Between 20 and 30 October 2025, the Area of History of Law and Institutions of Miguel Hernández University of Elche organised the Research Seminar: Victims and Perpetrators. The institutionalisation of repression in twentieth-century European totalitarian states, aimed at fostering critical reflection on the devastating consequences that intransigence and ideological radicalisation have historically had on citizens’ lives.

Within the framework of this seminar, on 30 October, Dr Josep Serrano Daura, Director of the Fiter i Rossell Chair at eUniv, delivered a lecture on Catalan Historical Law and the continuity of the civil regime up to the twenty-first century.
